Central Venous Catheter Kits. Product description
- Central venous catheter kits are designed for use in Intensive Care Medicine and in anesthesia. The catheter in the СVС kits is 1-way, 2-way or 3-way, depending on the indication.
- The catheter itself is made of polyurethane. At room temperature the СVС-catheters are stiff, difficult to kink, and easy to introduce. Once in the body they are designed to soften and reduce the potential for vessel trauma.
- The soft radiopaque conical catheter tip, helps to reduce vessel irritation, forms a seamless junction with the catheter body. All Invumed CVCs are provided with a soft tip.
- All kits includes a guide wire with a nitinol core, which is designed to improve the shape memory of the guide wire thus enhancing maneuverability and resistance to kinking. The guide wire is flexible on both sides and J-curved on one side, depending on the user’s needs.
- The clearly marked extensions allow catheter manipulation to be performed well away from the insertion site, helping reducing the risk of infection. Different lengths of extensions and colour-coded hubs allow easy and reliable lumen identification.
- The specially formed dilator tip provides a smooth transition with the guidewire to help reduce the risk of skin irritation and dilator tip breakage. The sharp dilator tip reduces the need for a scalpel to enlarge the access site. Dilators are tailored to each catheter size.
- The special Y-site adaptor fits between the syringe and introducer needle during catheter introduction. The guidewire is introduced through the side arm of the Y and is designed to eliminate the need to remove the syringe. This prevents blood loss and exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
- Invumed CVCs are available in different set and kit configurations. The standard set provides all components necessary for the placement of a central venous catheter. Extended kit versions features additional components for the insertion of a central venous catheter to maximise infection prevention by a more procedural approach.
